Dr. Bruce Hutchison graduated from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1981., after completing a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Rochester “Approaching Dentistry with an engineering background is a great fit.” Dr. Hutchison opened his dental practice in Centreville in August 1982 and it has continued to grow to now include four dentists and an amazing staff.

Dr. Brigid B. Mooney joined our team at Smiles for Centreville in 2013. Dr. Mooney grew up in Texas and graduated from Austin College in Sherman, Texas with a degree in Spanish Literature. She continued her education, receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Mooney is an active member in the Northern Virginia Dental Society, Virginia Dental Association and the American Dental Association. She is dedicated to her patients and looks forward to providing dental care to your entire family.
Dr. Mallory Grossman was born and raised in Slingerlands, NY. After graduating magna cum laude from Binghamton University in 2010, she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine where she
graduated magna cum laude in 2014. Dr. Grossman continued her dental education in a General Practice Residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY.
Dr. Grossman focuses on minimally invasive, esthetic and functional dentistry. She takes numerous continuing education courses in order to provide her patients with the best and most innovative dentistry. Dr. Misto graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry and has been practicing general and cosmetic dentistry for over 23 years. Since friendships start with a smile, today it’s more important then ever to make your smile beautiful. He has been trained in the placement and restoration of Dental Implants which is the most natural tooth replacement method available to patients today.

Dr. Han attended and earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering with honors from the University of Miami. Dr. Justin Johnson was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He originally trained in biomedical engineering at Vanderbilt University, but always had a passion for healthcare. He attended Nova Southeastern University and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree. While at Nova, he was honored as Overall Student of the Year for the entire graduate school due to his amazing leadership skills during his four years.
His passion for learning then brought him to Richmond, VA where he completed a 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at VCU. The AEGD program emphasizes the delivery of multi-disciplinary comprehensive oral health care and stresses that oral health is an integral and interactive part of one’s overall health. Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Virginia Dental Association, the American Dental Education Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Jeffrey Day is a 1990 graduate of the Buffalo School of Dental medicine. Following graduation, he entered a general practice residency at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia. He continued to serve as a navy dentist for another five years before resigning his commission in 1996. Dr. Day and his family have lived in the area since 1993. Dr. Day has developed a philosophy of comprehensive dental care with the emphasis on information and service to the patient.
Dr. Day believes by doing this, he will be up-to-date with information for his patient's care and will increase his dental knowledge as new products and procedures are developed.
Dr. Peter Scelfo has been in the full time practice of dentistry in the Fredericksburg Area since 1985. Prior to that he practiced as a general dentist in a group specialty practice in Washington, D.C. Upon graduation from Georgetown University, School of Dentistry, in 1979, Dr. Scelfo was awarded the prestigious Georgetown Alumni Club Award for excellence in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics.
He has attended many continuing education courses including additional training in implant reconstruction, cosmetic bonding, bioethics, radiology and nutrition.
Dr. Harrell knew all along that serving others through dentistry was part of her calling. With the support of her family she earned her doctorate at the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston in 2013. She has experience in private practice and has maintained a commitment to continuing education even while living abroad, most recently in Belgium.
Dr. Harrell has received superb training in contemporary cosmetic and general dental techniques, and she is comfortable using those skills to benefit patients of every age. More importantly, her excellent clinical skills are exceeded only by her compassion and care for patients.
Mary Kate Moriarty
Mary Kate Moriarty, DMD, is a 1991 graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, and received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in 1985. Dr. Moriarty grew up in Western Massachusetts, but has considered Northern Virginia home for almost 26 years, and is excited to bring her many years of clinical experience to Hilltop Dental Studio in Spotsylvania.
Dr. Moriarty practices compassionate care while utilizing the latest materials and clinical practices. She has been an Invisalign provider since 2008, and continues to use continuing education to bring the latest findings to her patients. She treats her patients’ health, not just their teeth, and is especially pleased to improve overall health with sleep appliance therapy, nightguards for clenching, and partial or full mouth replacement with implant restorations. Her professional affiliations are with the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society. In addition, Dr. Moriarty is a member of the American Dental Association’s Advisory Circle, and provides feedback to the ADA on current concerns of its members and of the dental general public.
Dr. Moriarty rows competitively with the Northern Virginia Rowing Club on the beautiful Occoquan Reservoir, and in her free time enjoys painting, cycling, and letting her golden retriever Lola take her for hikes. She’s a Tribe and Hokie Mom and is thrilled to be a member of the Hilltop Dental Studio family.

Dr. Amanda Brown has been involved in dentistry for longer than she can remember! The daughter of founder Dr. Douglas Herbert, Dr. Brown joined the practice in 1998 after graduating from the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Brown has accomplished extensive advance education and hands on training in orthodontic and restorative dentistry. She is a member of several organizations including the American Orthodontic Society, Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Brown trains at the Spear Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona and is an active member of the Greater Loudoun Study Club. She has also invested many hours of continuing education in laser dentistry at the World Clinical Laser Institute. Dr. Brown prides herself in being extremely gentle and provides care for children of the practice.
Dr. Collazo earned his dental degree from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1990. Shortly after graduation, he joined the U.S. Army Dental Corps where he completed an Advanced Education Program in General Dentistry. In 1995, following military assignments in Kansas, Germany and Texas, Dr. Collazo established residence in Northern Virginia.
Dr. Collazo's areas of clinical interest are adult complex restorations, esthetics, dental implants, facial pain, TMJ disorders, and dental sleep medicine. He lectures on those topics to local study clubs and maintains membership in the Greater Loudoun Study Club (where he serves as a restorative advisor), Spear Faculty Club and Spear Study Club.
After graduating with a degree in biology from Boston College, Dr. Lincoln went on to earn her doctorate from the University of Maryland’s Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. Dr. Lincoln has completed advanced continuing education courses at the prestigious Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida, and is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Virginia Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Society, and the Greater Loudoun Study Club.

Gardner & Swanner
Dr. Edward D. Gardner, Jr. received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the College of William and Mary and his dental degree from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry. He has been in private practice in Richmond, Virginia for over 40 years.
Dr. Gardner is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the Richmond Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He lectures, and conducts seminars nationally for Invisalign, teaching other dentists how to treat their patients with Invisalign braces.
Dr. Zack Swanner received his bachelor’s degree from Duke University prior to enrolling at the East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. After earning his dental degree, he completed a one year general practice residency at Carilion Clinic in Roanoke where he gained experience in almost all facets of dentistry. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Richmond Dental Society.
One of Dr. Swanner’s favorite things about dentistry is meeting and getting to know all of his patients. He finds nothing more rewarding than having a patient get out of his chair knowing that he’s contributed to their happy smile and overall dental health.
Midgette Family Dentistry
Dr. Brian P. Midgette is a native of Chesapeake, Virginia and a graduate of Western Branch High School. He attended Old Dominion University, graduating with honors in 1984 with a B.S. in Biology. His hard work and experience paved the way for an early entry into the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors.
Dr. Midgette dedicates himself to furthering his career by seeking countless hours of advanced continuing education courses. He is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry and he participates in several local dental study clubs.
Dr. James W. Baker is a native of Portsmouth, Virginia and a graduate of Churchland High School. He attended Virginia Military Institute, graduating as a Distinguished Military Graduate with a B.S. in Biology and graduated with honors from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Baker served a General Practice Residency at Brooke Army Medical Center and then satisfied his commitment to the U.S. Army by commanding the dental clinic at Seneca Army Depot in New York.
Dr. Baker has earned both a Fellowship and Mastership in General Dentistry with the Academy of General Dentistry, is a past president of the Tidewater Dental Association, and has been selected for fellowship in the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists.
Dr. Kelly Paxton earned her B.S. in Biology at University of Detroit Mercy, where she also participated in Division I Track and Field for four years. She continued her education at University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry where she received her D.D.S. degree. Kelly decided to continue her dental career in Virginia and has been a part of the team for over five years now.
Dr. Paxton takes personal interest in educating her patients on achieving and maintaining superior dental health. She is a member of the American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry and is involved with local dental organizations.
Dr. Ryan C. Shuck is a native to Central Virginia. He attended Christopher Newport University, graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration Management and attended San Diego State University, completed his pre-dental curriculum, and served as the marketing director for the student dental association. Dr. Shuck received his D.D.S from The University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he received special training in CAD/CAM dentistry and extractions. Dr. Shuck actively volunteers throughout the community.
Dr. Shuck takes great pride in protecting and advocating for the environment and the beaches we all enjoy. The biggest joy in his life is raising his daughter and experiencing the world through her eyes.
Center for Restorative, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry
Dr. David Pate attended University of Richmond where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. After graduating from the University of Richmond, he went on to attend The Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1982.
Dr. Pate received his implant training at Northwestern University and completed additional training at The Zimmer Institute in San Diego, CA. Dr. Pate has been practicing dentistry in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake for 28 years and is certified with The Advanced Cardiac Life Support Training Organization.
Dr. David Lewis is a native of South Carolina who came to Virginia Beach after serving in the United States Navy. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University for his undergraduate studies. Graduating Magna Cum Laude from the VCU Honors College, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
Dr. Lewis then attended Temple University School of Dentistry, graduating Cum Laude receiving his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Parris Island, SC.
Dr. Martha Egeland-Lewis is a native of Chesterfield, Virginia. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University for her undergraduate studies, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, during which she worked as an oral surgery assistant and volunteered at MCV where she fell in love with the dental profession.
Dr. Egeland-Lewis received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Egeland-Lewis has completed the Engle Institute course for implant placement and offers implant placement and restorations at the Great Bridge/Hickory location.

Dr. Robert George is a native to Yorktown and has practiced dentistry on the Peninsula for over 20 years. He attended Eastern Mennonite University where he received a BS in Biology. In his spare time, Dr. James E. Harrison enjoys photography, running ultra marathons in the mountains, mentoring young runners, and NFL football (especially the Green Bay Packers).

Dr. Diann Gordon is a native of central Virginia. She graduated from Medical College of Virginia with a B.S. degree in dental hygiene. After working as a dental hygienist for three years, she returned to dental school, graduating with honors in 1984 from the University of Texas in San Antonio. Dr. William “Rusty” Morris graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in 1978. He was in private practice in Eden, NC for 28 years before transitioning that practice to move here in 2007. Dr. Morris is an adjunct professor of Operative Dentistry at the UNC School of Dentistry where he oversees student clinics. He is also an active member and past president of the Hollenback-Medina Operative Dentistry Seminar, a participative study club that was founded in 1964.
In 1991, Dr. Morris and his wife bought a house on the south side of the lake and became frequent visitors. Now they happily call this home and enjoy frequent visits from their three grown children and numerous friends and family!
Dr. Sheila Hardee, DDS
Dr. Sheila Hardee is a 1989 graduate of the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. She had been in private practice in Virginia Beach for nearly 20 years.
As an early pioneer in CAD/CAM Technology, in 2000 she received Advanced Certification credentials in CAD/CAM dentistry and has since been lecturing and training dentists throughout the US and internationally. Dr. Hardee is also certified and licensed in laser periodontal therapy, LANAP.
Dr. Hardee has been married to her husband Rick for 39 years. The have a married son and two granddaughters.

Dr. Tupman completed his undergraduate work at the University of Virginia and graduated from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 1978. He was a Navy dentist where he completed internships in endodontics and periodontics. He has since been in private practice for over 30 years and is an active member of the American Dental Association and Virginia Dental Association.
Dr. Tupman is married to his childhood sweetheart, who he met playing Little League Baseball and they have three adult children. He is an avid gardener and tropical fish owner. Dr. Tupman also enjoys playing racquetball and working out.

Dr. Wilson grew up in Ashland, VA., the oldest of five siblings. While a dental student, she was selected for membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society. Dr. Wilson is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Virginia Dental Association, the American Association of Women Dentists, and the Piedmont Dental Society.
Recognized for her efforts in the Mission of Mercy (MOM) Projects, Dr. Wilson is dedicated to supporting local communities. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, rock climbing, reading, and photography.
Dr. Elizabeth Neal, DDS
Dr. Neal grew up in Danville, Virginia and moved to Richmond, Virginia to complete undergrad and dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University. She relocated to Ohio in 2012 to complete a one year general practice residency at Akron City Hospital and has been in private practice since returning to the area. Dr. Neal thoroughly enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, but mostly she looks forward to building relationships.

Dr. Kim graduated from Hermon Ostrow School of Dentistry at University of Southern California after learning his passion to help the community that needed help when he was volunteering at Mission of Mercy. He also received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Dongguk University, and Bachelor of Science in Biology at Iowa State University. He has served in the U.S. Army in 2001 through 2003 as a Sergeant in a Military Police Battalion.
Outside dentistry, Dr. Kim enjoys watching movies, dramas, listening to music, and playing video games. He currently resides in Blacksburg with his wife and son.
